Did BP 5x5 today, coincidentally. It went like this: 62.5 (137.5) 67.5 (148.5) 72.5 (159.5) 77.5 (170.5) 80 (176) (whoops, didn't mean to do this one) 82.5 (181.5)
Then Dumbbell Fran 25# Dumbbells 8:21? GAH! My book is in my car. Anyway, something verrrry close to that.
Then I went to the gym to swim. Which rhymes. Anyway, there was an AQUA CLASS THEN! So...I was wearing an AWESOME outfit b/c it wasn't for the gym, it was for going homeafter swimming. So I went and ran first.
Did 1 lap jog, 1 lap hard for 15:21. I thought I was tracking laps, but no, I wasn't. Great.
Then I swam 5 x 100m with :20 rest between each 100m. Felt GREAT to be in the water again, but I was not very speedy I think. Was in the water a total of 10:12. Meh. But...I'll be bock.
Back Squat 5 x 5 Moved last week's weights up by 10#, except for the 2nd set, which I screwed up (it should have been 240, not 235).
215-5 235-5 270-5 295-5 325-5 (5 rep PR)
Bench Press 5 x 5 Moved last week's weights up by 5#. 160-5 180-5 205-5 225-5 245-4
I think I would have got 5 at 245 - I was struggling, but I'm pretty sure I was going to get it. Unfortunately, I didn't explain things as clearly to my spotter (who shall remain nameless) as I should have, so this person pulled it a bit early.
It seems that the clear solution to this problem is to get 250 x 5 next time. That should remove any doubts I might have.
Thanks for throwing me under the bus, Phil. But actually, you have explained it to me. You told me that if the bar appears to start going in a downward motion, the spotter should grab it. That is exactly what I did. SO...I guess the lesson to be learned is that if one changes their standards for spotting, one should inform his/her spotter of this ahead of time.
