Seeking to be true to Crossfit philosophy, last night we went on a Sinnissippi Park walk (parallels the Rock River in Rockford for those non-Rockfordians among us). Will probably make this a once/week addition to our scaled work-outs. That plus swimming gives us some added variety. I'm trying to decided what my July challenge should be....was thinking of swimming the width of Rice Lake...but not that confident of swimming stamina yet. Is there a good life jacket for swimming...one that gives mobility while providing some buoyancy? Kiley, guess I should have sent you shopping for me, too.
OMG I'm the first to post from today's group! I'm so excited!

For whatever reason, my grip was fried on the third set of pull-ups, so I did 8 and 4.
Dad - I don't know about any "swimming life jackets." It would be a good idea though.
Also, you and Mom can certainly do Dutch's July challenge with the rest of us. Most people will be scaling it, so you can just pick a manageable weight and get it from the ground to overhead enough times to total 3000# (weight x reps). So, choosing an easily calculated scheme as an example, a person could choose two 15# DBs (or one of the preset 30# barbells at Peak) and get it from the ground to overhead 100 times.
Any interest there?
Regarding the life jacket thing, wetsuit is the closest thing I know of. They provide floaty-ness (can't spell that with the b word) and don't restrict movement...Other than that I dunno.
Also, 3 cookies and one piece of ice cream cake so far today...Sigh.

I feel like you guys almost race to see who can post first... what's up with that?
Phil - your parents do this stuff? very impressive!
Charista...you feel the force...it is the CrossFit force..."everything...for time" =)
Also, never polka dotting again. Ever.
I think the word Kiley was looking for is buoyancyness. Is that it?
Ah - that's the "b" word she was looking forward. I had no clue.
I do not race to post. However, I would like to point out that Charista posted only 7 minutes after the first place post (well, the first place post from the Omaha group). Who's racing now, eh?
Also, I would have beaten Kiley but my post was longer. But I wasn't racing.
I'll take another look at the July challenge. Sometimes I read them too fast...imagine, me not paying attention to details!
Helen went well...we don't time as exact as y'all due to some of our gym limitations; like people getting on the pull-up assist and then standing on it while they rest for the next set. Told mom my frustration...she ended up with the same guy a few min. later. He stepped back slightly and, being prepped, she moved right in and said, "Thanks so much for letting me in." I was so proud of her.
