Some notes:
1. Slowest half I've run.

2. Hilliest half I've run - the course change from last year made a big difference. Kansas City might be hillier, but that was a full for me, not a half.

3. Heaviest I've been for a half at about 215# - this is about 15# heavier than last year for this race. I'm correspondingly stronger, of course, but with running, that only helps up to a point.

4. Probably the roughest half I've ever run - for a combination of reasons: heavier, hillier, less running over the winter, etc., but probably the most important - my legs (especially calves) were tired from the very beginning. My planning for the past week wasn't altogether intelligent in terms of preparation, but oh well.

5. I'm ok with it overall - I wanted to see how long I could stay with the 1:40 group, and I stayed with them through mile 6. Miles 7 and 8 were miserable, and the rest was also tough but not as bad. I definitely want to get back to sub-1:40 times, but given my amount of preparation and how my training's been oriented for the past few months, I'd say I got what I deserved.

PR for me on any 1/2 marathon, so I was happy.

I concur that the route was much hillier than last year.
