Sunday 02/21/10

Today's WOD was the first workout for the Midwestern Sectional Qualifier held this past weekend (February 13-14) at CrossFit TNT in St. Charles, MO.

"Air Force WOD"
For time:
20 Thrusters
20 SDHP
20 Push Jerks
20 OHS
20 Front Squats

Loads are 95#/65#.

At the beginning of each minute (including the first minute), perform 4 burpees. The rest of the minute is used to complete as many reps as possible of each exercise. Move to the next exercise only when you've completed all 20 reps of the exercise you're currently doing. There will be a timer that goes off once a minute - if you are in the middle of a rep when it goes off, complete that rep and then start your 4 burpees.

Burpees on fists on a blue mat due to left wrist pain.

The guy who took first at the Midwestern Sectional did this in 3:53 . . . sheesh. The second place guy came in at 4:50 - that is a crazy difference between first and second in a WOD of this length.

This time would have been 87th out of 134 competetors at the MidWest sectionals.

The top 30 from the sectional go to the regional. Top few from the regionals go to the 2010 Crossift games.

Not that I expected better, mind you, it's just sometimes better to not know where you fall in the whole scheme of things.

I'd a been 44/68 on that WOD in the Midwest Sectionals. I'm okay with that, fo sho. Had I been specifically training for this "event" I wouldn't probably, but...I'm not specifically training for this event. I was mostly stoked that I did it prescribed. =)
