6 Rope Climb Ascents
Note: Above is the WOD as posted on the main site. In the past, we've subbed either 10 towel pull-ups or 15 towel pull-ups for each rope climb ascents. It is worth noting that these numbers always result in significantly more time spent doing pull-ups than would be spent climbing the rope (since you can use your feet when climbing a rope). In addition, this is easily the largest number of rope climbs I've ever seen posted in a main site WOD and would have resulted in either 270 or 405 towel pull-ups, respectively. Consequently, we subbed 5 towel pull-ups for each rope climb ascent, so the WOD looked like this:
"Tommy V"
21 Thrusters, 115#/80#
60 Towel Pull-ups
15 Thrusters, 115#/80#
45 Towel Pull-ups
9 Thrusters, 115#/80#
30 Towel Pull-ups

This was still easily the most towel pull-ups (135) I've ever done in a WOD, and they took awhile, but it was a bit more maneagable than the other options.
I was pleased with the thrusters as they were continuous. Of course, maybe I should really only be happy with the 21 thrusters. The pull-ups provided a nice break for my legs before doing the rest of the thrusters.
