Tuesday 05/19/09

Location: NP
Time: 5:00 a.m.

Push Press
5-5-5-3-3-3

Rest several minutes. (Of course, I always post this part, but usually we end up running immediately into spin. Ah well.)

Spin.

Note: I ended up going in the evening at CHS and did the following metcon afterward:

4 rounds for time of:
5 Box Jumps, 30"
10 Pull-ups
30 sec rest

This comes from Catalyst Athletics - no specific box height was prescribed, so I chose 30".

Push Press, 5-5-5-3-3-3:
135-5
155-5
175-5
185-3 (3 rep and 1 rep PR)
195-1 (PR)
195-miss

4 rounds for time of:
5 Box Jumps, 30"
10 Pull-ups
30 sec rest

3:12 (includes rest)

All pull-ups were continuous and, except for the last 5, were butterfly pull-ups. Getting better at the butterfly kip, but not great. I recorded the WOD, so I can see that I'm not following through at the top as well as I should.

Still not in on the hop-a-fence plan, but thinking about it. I did 7x1 Power cleans yesterday:

70k 154 lb
75k 165 lb
80k 176 lb
80k 176 lb
85k 187 lb
80k 176 lb
80k 176 lb

The 80 made me nervous, and the 85 made me very nervous. This is better than my old gym, but I still can't dump the weight, so I'm stuck with having to know ahead of time that I'll pull it off. That's why I had to go back down to 80k instead of trying 90. I figure my weight right now at right around 192 -- judging mostly by how my pants fit. I don't have a scale handy.
