Five rounds for max reps of:
Bodyweight bench press
Pull-ups
Record reps for all rounds. This is not for time - take some rest in between exercises/sets. For example, I'll probably take about 1.5-2 minutes of rest after each set of bench press and then another 1.5-2 minutes after each set of pull-ups. The WOD is set up in rounds, so it goes bench, rest, pull-ups, rest, bench, rest, pull-ups, etc.
Scaling for bench press: Choose a weight that you think can get 6-12 reps of and use that. Make sure you have a spotter and touch the bar to your chest on every rep. Push-ups also make a good substitution.
Scaling for pull-ups: You can use the gravitron or do jumping pull-ups. With jumping pull-ups, stop counting when the pull-ups aren't continuous anymore (i.e., if you have to wait at the bottom before jumping back up, you're done). Again, choose a box height where you think you can get somewhere between 6-12 reps. Doing 50 jumping pull-ups is great, but not for this WOD - we want to build your strength toward eventually doing regular (i.e., kipping) pull-ups.
Compare to 11/10/08 or 07/01/08.

Phil I don't think we should post any quotes from this morning...It's just not a good idea..especially when some of us have trouble hearing properly..
Bench Press @ BW (200#):
12, 10, 6, 6, 4
Pull-ups: 28, 21, 18, 16, 15
Also, I appreciate but am completely disregarding your comment, Kathy. In light of this . . .
Memorable quote from Kathy this morning:
"I really fart . . . I really feel that."
Context is irrelevant - these are the words that were spoken. My hearing, as always, is perfect.
Context is never irrelevant...not that the context would changed anything because the words were never spoken... your childish mind reverts to such imaginings when left to itself ....my guess is you refuse to address the context because you were already so far gone that you can't remember what I was talking about. Or possibly I'm so boring that you were never really listening in the first place therefore to entertain itself the mind created this misquote.
But all this is irrelevant as well because while we attack each other we are missing out on a golden opportunity to make people feel jealous for missing the work out this morning. As they should because it was tons of fun...minus said nonsense....But I'm rambling
Okay, Grasshopper, listen here. I am old and such and I woke up today, started getting ready and my body revolted. Said "If you do this, I will punish you for DAYS, do you hear me??? DAYYYYYS!" So I went to bed and slept 3 more hours.
That said, I read your results and you rawked the bench for sure. Also nice job on the pull ups!
Also...I concur with Phil. =)
