The following took place on Saturday, 07/23/10. The snatches and C & J should have been on Friday.
Snatch - heavy single 135-1 145-1 155-1 165-1 175-f x 3
Not great, but I was tired, and at least I hit 165 pretty easily (which I did not hit last week). In terms of sleep/training, getting this musical over with will be a big plus.
Clean and Jerk 75% x 1 x 5 75% of 235 = approx 180, but I used 185 since it was easier to set up 185 x 1 x 5
I did one C and J every minute on the minute.
Deadlift 5 RM 225-5 315-5 405-2 ----- 435-5
This is 30 lbs below my PR (from back in March), but I haven't deadlifted heavy since then, so I thought going a bit lighter was smart. By rep 3, I knew I hadn't gone light enough. Lifting it wasn't the issue, but my lower back was definitely starting to complain. Granted, some or all of this trouble might have been due to all the O-lift stuff right before this.
At any rate, normally the immediate soreness/stiffness wouldn't have been a big deal - I had a rest day coming up on Sunday, and I could always switch up Monday's lifting if need be. However, in Guys and Dolls (1 show that night and 2 shows the next day on Sunday), I have to lift a girl up in the air about 4 times per show. It ended up going fine, but I was definitely worried, especially with how slow I was getting in and out of my car. Sheesh. Even putting on socks was a challenge.
