This video... has one part that is a little unsavory, and they swear a little. But I laughed quietly most of the way through it, so I thought some of y'all might enjoy it too, bros. http://crossfitredline.com/bloggspot/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/2-x-fitters-1-chalk-bucket.wmv
So I fell out of my bed the other day... sort of. And I sort of landed on my indoor clothes-drying-rack. It broke (I fixed it). I scraped open my heel. Walking hurts. I can run. But it's not going to get better if I do. So no metcon with running today, like was on. (Not like this disappointed me).
So: 3-3-3-3-3 Back Squat 110 (242) 115 (253) 120 (264) 125 (275) 125 (275) I should have gone 130, but it sure didn't feel like it was gonna come, and I ticked off the desk jockey last week dumping on heavy squats. Since it was the same guy today, I thought I'd let it go.
Shoulder Press: 3-3-3-3-3 60 (132) all the way through.
500m Row: 1:48. Had to stop in the middle -- I almost fell off the seat. That thing needs a seat belt. Or some glue.
bro, that was totally 2010. "i'm a f%$#*^@ navy seal and olympic athlete in a f%$#*^@ suit of armor, bro." priceless. oh, and the swearing only makes it better. thanks for the link.
Looking forward to watching the video - won't get to it until 7th hour due to having students in the room over my lunch hour.
And yes, I vote keep eating. I think the 5 days I'll be in Orlando for the bball tournament will be a similar situation. The downside is, I don't know how feasible it will be to consume as much food as I'd like around that time.
Sorry to hear about the foot - I don't think I'll be doing the running today either - too much stuff going on in the gym to be running in and out during practice and games tonight. My plan is to do the DB Bear Complex (a 20 min amrap we did back on 3/9/09).
I visited Fitness Premier today (looking for a place to run and row during the winter). There are gyms that are not CrossFit-friendly, and then there's gyms like this . . . extremely not CrossFit-friendly.
No rowers. No straight pull-up bars. No GHD. One power rack (similar to CHS).
Truly, none of these things are surprising (although the lack of straight pull-up bars is a more recent development in the fitness world), but it's still a bummer.
All in all, it was fine for today - all I wanted was a treadmill for the following:
Becky, Sarah, and I did the following together in Becky's classroom...where we didn't have chalk or much space...
10 minutes every minute on the minute of: -5 DB Deadlifts -5 DB Hang Power Cleans -5 DB Thrusters
I used 25# and got the 10 rounds done. However, we'd PLANNED on doing 20 rounds...but the DB's were getting miiiighty sweaty and therefore slick and I pictured mine flying through the air and wiping out Becky's desk...and we stopped.
Then we did double unders. I chose to do 200 for time. 7:01. The middle ones were the best as I did approximately zero for warm up. I'm smart.

The push-ups killed it for me.
