Location: CHS
Time: 1:45 p.m.
Bench Press
3-3-3-1-1-1
Every Minute for 10 Minutes perform:
Dumbbell Complex
3 Hang Squat Cleans
3 Push Press
3 Overhead Reverse Alternating Lunge (3/side)
(Credit goes to CrossFit KC)
Suggested DB loading: 45% bodyweight (total, not per DB)
EMOM = Every Minute on the Minute
Overhead Reverse Alternating Lunge: Hold both DBs overhead, step backward with one leg into a lunge position, lightly touching knee to the ground. I've never actually seen this done, so this is my best guess as to how this will be executed. If in doubt, use less weight.
Your score is recorded as "X/Y," where X = # of rounds completed on the minute and Y = # of rounds completed for the remainder of the 10 minute period.
This EMOM was originally scheduled for for 05/07/09.

10 min EMOM:
Used 35% BW (approx 200#) = 35# DBs for a total weight of 70#
Completed all 10 rounds EMOM. It was a good idea to scale it down - I might have been able to complete a round or two with 45# DBs, but the overhead lunges were the major issue, and I wouldn't have gotten near the metabolic conditioning that I was after. Next time I'll up the weight to 40# DBs.
Monkey-See-Monkey-Do: 24 seconds.
Also, 2 things:
1) Technically, I suppose I should record my EMOM score as 10/0. However, nobody should think that I'm trying to divide by zero - it can't be done, and that attempt would just be silly.
2) This Saturday will be the third day of our next cycle. Kiley and Becky, am I correct in assuming you two will be doing a longer ride that day? I might plan a shorter WOD (thinking Grace).
3) I know, I said 2 things. I'm tentatively thinking 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Going much later could be a problem given that Becky and I have Senior Blessing that evening, but hopefully this will let Sarah make it as well. Anyone have problems with this?
4) I know. Sarah and Kathy, I added you two to the comments email list (in case you didn't already get them) so you guys won't miss out on these incredibly important conversations we have on the blog. If you want off, just let me know. I won't be offended. You will, however, be dead to me.
Bench: 75, 80, 85, 90, 95(fail), 95(fail). Boo. Ties my PR but before I did it with more reps prior to hitting it. Not spectacular.
Completed the 10 rounds of EMOM, using 20# instead of 33# which was my prescribed.

Saturday at 4:00 should work for me, as the open houses I'm attending are over before then.
