Back at it again . . .

Due to the wide and varied readership of this blog, and also due to the general clamoring of the public for more of this literary masterpiece, HopAFence is back.

Sarcasm aside, I plan to start posting again for anyone who cares to follow along. The leg's mostly healed up now, and I've been working out again for about 2-3 weeks, so now seemed a good time to start the blog up again.

In other news:

Several of us had a great time in Kansas City this past weekend - the entire Meggers family as well as Kiley and Becky competed at various distances in the Kansas City Marathon. Dad did the 5k; way to go Dad - the difference in your physical capacity and abilities from last year at this time to now are nothing short of miraculous! If only we could do something about your mental capacity . . . ah well. Mom completed her second half-marathon - walking and running! Kris completed her first half marathon - this very same sister of mine who a year ago disavowed almost any possibility of racing or running has now competed in 3 races within 5 months! Kiley competed in her first half-marathon - she did great and successfully trained for the event while fighting off various injuries. Becky competed in her second half-marathon and also did great - she pulled in a time several minutes less than her goal! As for me, I finished my first full marathon - the first 21 miles were solid, and the last 5 miles . . . well, they provided much motivation for another marathon in the future. St. Louis in April sounds just lovely.

Kiley is recovering from being generally "broken" - her word, not mine - and is currently going through the toughest and most frustrating part of any workout regimen . . . healing. Good job Kiley - keep it up.

Kiley and I will also be attending a CrossFit certification in Ft. Leavenworth, KS on November 8-9. Pretty excited.

Finally, the grapevine has it that Andrea will be returning to the crew in the near future. Just ask her.
